Rome, Italy, 9th January 2017 – InfoCert, part of Tecnoinvestimenti Group and the largest Certification Authority in Europe, has commissioned Forrester Research, the market research company based in Cambridge MA, a study for the measurement of economic benefits associated with the adoption of InfoCert’s Trusted Onboarding Platform (TOP) by a major European bank.

According to Forrester, the Trusted Onboarding Platform adoption enabled the bank to increase its online customer’s conversion rate by 30% and to reduce frauds by 80%. Overall the resulting benefits yielded a 174% ROI for the bank with a payback period in terms of months.

Trusted Onboarding Platfor (“TOP”) is InfoCert’s patented solution for client on-boarding and distance contracting, enabling the remote identification of customers and the signature of contracts according to the eIDAS Regulation. TOP enables the on-boarding of new customers through a 100% digital experience in less than 8 minutes.

The study was carried out by Forrester Consulting using the Total Economic Impact (“TEI”) methodology, developed to measure the value of a technology investment in terms of benefits, costs, risks and flexibility.

The analysis was based on data gathered by Forrester during interviews with the bank’s representatives. The bank has used InfoCert’s TOP for several years to offer a fully digital on-boarding experience to its customers. Data were processed by Forrester using risk-adjustment criteria for alignment with potential standing of other institutions. Key findings reported in the TEI study:

  • Overall benefits amounting to 14.7 million Euro

  • A 174% Return on Investment (ROI)
  • Over 80% in frauds reduction, down from 06% to 0.01%
  • A 30% increase in prospect-to-customer conversion rate
  • A 0,6 months payback period

The findings of this study, conducted by the independent operator Forrester, highlight the innovative value of our Trusted Onboarding Platform”, said Danilo Cattaneo, InfoCert CEO. “Most importantly, they exemplify our vision of digital transformation as the ability for an organization to revolutionize its business approach through cutting-edge digital services and to achieve immediate and substantial benefits, not only financially but also in terms of risk management, as the sharp reduction in frauds by more than 80% confirms”.

THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION CHOOSES INFOCERT FOR TIME STAMPING THE OFFICIAL JOURNAL IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE NEW EIDAS REGULATION

The EC Directorate-General for Informatics (DIGIT) has selected InfoCert trust service to guarantee the legal validity of the European Union official publications

Rome, 5 September 2016 InfoCert, part of the Tecnoinvestimenti Group and among the leading European Trust Service Providers, announces that its eIDAS certified Time Stamping service has been selected by the EC Directorate-General for Informatics (DIGIT) to guarantee the full legal validity of official publications circulated in electronic format by the EU Publications Office.

These include the Official Journal (OJ), the main source of information and legislative updates of the European Union, digitally available since 2013.

DIGIT requires the presence of qualified digital signatures on all EU official publications as well as a qualified time stamp to certify the issuing date and time of each document.

Following the entry into force of the eIDAS Regulation, DIGIT has identified InfoCert as a qualified and reliable partner to comply with the requirements of the new provisions.

Indeed, InfoCert was among the first European Certification Authorities to obtain the certification as a Qualified Trust Service Provider for the Time Stamping service and has supplied DIGIT with the trust components required for ensuring that the digital signatures used by the EU Publications Office, which also publishes on behalf of the European Court of Justice, fully comply with the new regulation.

Furthermore the European Commission will also apply InfoCert’s eIDAS qualified time-stamps to the professional certificates signed by the Internal Market Information system to support professionals in their cross border business within the EU.

“The European Commission – says Tom Vekemans, Head of DIGIT B.1 Unit (Architecture office, Consultancy, Innovation and Relationship Management) – is pleased to use the InfoCert timestamping service as one of its underpinning services, resulting in higher security and more convenience for its online activity”.

“To be chosen by DIGIT for ensuring, through our services, the legal validity of the official publications of the EU is a great source of pride for us”. – declares Danilo Cattaneo, CEO of InfoCert. “It confirms how our solutions are appreciated in Europe by the most demanding customers and boosts InfoCert position as a reference Trust Service Provider in the European Union”.

INFOCERT INCREASES ITS ROLE AS A MAIN PLAYER IN GLOBAL INNOVATION: PROMOTING THE CLOUD SIGNATURE CONSORTIUM, THE COMPANY CONFIRMS ITS LEADING ROLE IN DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION ALSO AT EUROPEAN LEVEL

The new organisation focuses on defining new interoperability standards compliant with eIDAS for remote and cloud-based digital signature

Rome, 28 June 2016 InfoCert, one of the companies in the Tecnoinvestimenti SpA Group and a leading European Certification Authority in digitalisation and dematerialisation services, in its capacity as promotor and partner, announces the launch of the Cloud Signature Consortium, an international organisation committed to building new open standards across web and mobile, for remote and cloud-based digital signatures.

InfoCert will provide the consortium with its recognised expertise in the Digital Trust field, its constant commitment to Research and Development – which it owes to the determination of the parent company Tecnoinvestimenti in supporting highly innovative activities – and its increasingly clear international vocation.

“InfoCert is proud to promote the Cloud Signature Consortium because it is convinced that inter-operability is fundamental for an increasingly widespread adoption of trust solutions, the true enabling factor of any digital business transformation – explains Danilo Cattaneo, Managing Director of InfoCert – The launch of the consortium just before the eIDAS regulation comes into effect confirms the need to create trusted digital ecosystems to overcome anachronistic national business boundaries.

In fact on July 1st, the new eIDAS (electronic IDentification Authentication and Signature) regulation will go into effect, helping pave the way for the global adoption of secure digital signatures: a milestone that will help take digital signatures ever more mainstream.

Digital signatures are the most advanced and secure type of electronic signature, increasingly used by businesses and governments around the world. However, using standards-compliant digital signatures today can be a cumbersome, time-consuming process that keeps people tethered to their desktop. In many cases, they need certificate-based IDs stored on USB tokens or smart cards. This approach doesn’t meet the increasing consumer and business expectations for simple and engaging experiences that work anywhere, on any device.

The new consortium currently has 13 members, of which Adobe is the main promotor and InfoCert the only Italian Certification Authority. The consortium members include cloud-based digital signature providers, trust service providers, academics and standards and security focused organizations. The consortium aims to develop an open standard which will provide the most secure form of electronic signature to more than 7 billion mobile devices all over the world.

The new standard created by the consortium will be critical to furthering digital transformation of business on a global scale by giving everyone access to secure digital signature solutions across a full range of cloud applications and mobile devices. Although initially focused on the EU, the Cloud Signature Consortium aims to build a global network of operators in the sector and intends to release new standard specifications, meeting eIDAS regulations, by the end of 2016, followed immediately by the first cloud-based implementations.  The consortium was inspired by the need to meet the highest level requirements of the eIDAS, but its impact is expected to be global as demand for highly secure digital solutions continues to rise.
